We recently had the pleasure of capturing Rebecca and Phil’s beautiful wedding at the stunning Bellavista in Milnrow – a day that blended relaxed, easy-going vibes with elegant touches and one of the most gorgeous sunsets you could wish for. From the groom and his groomsmen striding up the drive in style, to emotional ceremony moments and golden-hour portraits overlooking the countryside, their day was an absolute joy to photograph.

The Venue: Bellavista, Milnrow

Bellavista is one of Rochdale’s hidden gems – a stylish Italian restaurant and wedding venue perched above the rolling hills of Milnrow. With bright, modern interiors, well-kept gardens and panoramic views across the countryside towards Hollingworth Lake, it’s the perfect setting for couples who want an elegant celebration with a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere.

The Groom's Cinematic Arrival

The day began with Phil and his groomsmen arriving at Bellavista looking incredibly sharp in matching suits. One of our favourite frames from the morning is the group of them walking up the drive together – a real “film poster” moment that sets the tone for the day. These relaxed, natural moments are perfect for showing personality and giving the couple a reminder of the build-up before the ceremony even began.

A Ceremony Full of Heart

Inside, the ceremony room was filled with excited faces as Rebecca made her entrance on her dad’s arm. Her smile as she reached Phil said everything – a mix of nerves, happiness and pure excitement all at once.

We focused on capturing those little glances and expressions between them, as well as the reactions from family and friends watching on. Their first kiss as husband and wife, surrounded by their guests, was a beautiful moment and one that really sums up the warmth of the whole day.

Celebrations with Family & Friends

After the ceremony, everyone made their way outside to enjoy the sunshine and views. Bellavista’s outdoor space is ideal for relaxed group photographs – plenty of room for a big group shot, but still with that lovely countryside backdrop.

Rebecca and Phil were joined by all their favourite people for a large group photograph that really captures the atmosphere of the day: colourful outfits, smiling faces and a couple right at the heart of it all.

Romantic Portraits in the Bellavista Gardens

With the formal group photos complete, we took a little time with Rebecca and Phil around the gardens for their couple portraits. The ornate white gazebo and surrounding greenery created a romantic, almost storybook setting for their images.

We worked between classic, timeless portraits and a few more creative frames – including some beautiful black and white shots – to give them a varied set of images that still feels completely natural and true to who they are as a couple.

Golden Hour Magic: Sunset Over Hollingworth Lake

As evening approached, the weather treated us to a dramatic sky and a truly unforgettable sunset. Bellavista’s terrace looks out across the valley towards Hollingworth Lake and the surrounding hills, and it’s the perfect place to sneak away for a few final portraits as the light softens.

Rebecca and Phil embraced the moment, and we captured them against glowing clouds, soft golden light and that incredible landscape. These sunset images are some of our favourites from the day – the kind of photographs that feel just as good on the wall as they do in the album.
